About

About East Lancs Radio
East Lancs Radio’s been running seven years now, and it’s still as local as it gets. Ramsbottom-born, Ramsbottom-run. No big studios, no corporate playlists, just one bloke with a mic, a mixer, and a stubborn refusal to let the signal drop.
From 25th September 2025, we’re off-grid. Properly. Powered by solar, running on two huge batteries, and held together with cable ties, scripts, and a bit of grit. It’s not fancy, but it works, and it means the station’s yours in every sense.
We’re proud of our patch, from Holcombe Hill to the market, from the steam train to Civic Pride. If it’s happening in Ramsbottom or anywhere across East Lancs, we’ll plug it. Absolutely free of charge. Just drop us a line at eastlancsradio@gmail.com and we’ll get it on air.
And yes, we’re fully licensed with PPL. So when the music plays, it’s all above board.
Still live. Still local. Still Ramsbottom.

Mission

To grow East Lancs Radio from a small online station into a truly community-led platform.
East Lancs Radio can be powered by the people—built by Ramsbottom, for Ramsbottom. We’re here to serve the local area with honest, independent radio: solar-powered, backed by two huge batteries, and held together with grit, cable ties, and a bit of know-how.
We plug local events free of charge, support Civic Pride, and keep the signal live no matter what. Volunteers are always welcome to help us complete the mission—remotely or otherwise. If you’ve got a voice, a skill, or just a bit of time to spare, drop us a line at eastlancsradio@gmail.com.

Vision

To keep Ramsbottom connected—through music, Information, and stubborn reliability.
We believe local radio should be built, not bought. That it should run on sunlight, not sales pitches. And that if something’s happening in Ramsbottom, it deserves to be heard.
